Transparency about how we work and how our travel guides are created.

Our editorial principles

At Fantastic NZ For You we strive for the highest standards of travel journalism. Our core principles:

  • Accuracy: all facts, prices and practical information are verified against official sources and personal experience.
  • Independence: our editorial team is completely independent. We receive no payments from tourism businesses, accommodation providers or tour operators.
  • Transparency: we are open about our methods, sources and any limitations of our information.
  • Timeliness: we regularly update our guides and always display the date of the last update.

How our guides are created

  1. Research: every guide begins with thorough research, including official sources (Department of Conservation, Tourism New Zealand, MetService), academic publications and personal travel experience.
  2. Writing: our authors write based on their personal experience in New Zealand, supplemented by current data and source references.
  3. Review: every article is reviewed by a second editor for factual accuracy, readability and completeness.
  4. Publication: after approval, the article is published with clear attribution of author, publication date and any update date.
  5. Updates: we monitor our guides and update them when information changes — at least twice a year for core articles.

Corrections and feedback

We strive for error-free information, but mistakes are always possible. If you discover an inaccuracy, please contact us. We correct proven errors as quickly as possible and note significant corrections on the article.
